MentoringWorks: A mentoring program for all allied health workers across all levels.
The evidence based model will introduce new skills to mentors and new approaches to the mentoring process.   While the traditionalone-to-one relationship will be present, Learning Circles will be the core of the model.
Feedback from previous participants of this program indicates mentors gain as much as the mentees and increase their own career satisfaction and potential.

This 6 month program requires two days initial training followed by approx 16 hours over 6 months for the mentoring relationship, all of which can be claimed as CPD hours.  Explicit goals and boundaries will be set between yourself and your mentee.   You will provide mentoring, NOT clinical supervision.  Mentoring is about providing confidential support, career counselling specific to your mentee’s situation and skills that will impact all aspects of their work life such as new interpersonal skills, increased confidence and job satisfaction.

Online material will be available for you to draw from along with support from MentoringWorks providing contact via phone calls and seminars throughout the program.

Evaluation of Rural Allied Health Workforce Recruitment and Retention Projects

In 2008-09 the Department of Human Services appointed Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS) to conduct an independent evaluation of three of its funded rural allied health workforce recruitment and retention projects: Region of Choice, MentoringWorks and the Statewide Allied Health Workforce Education Program.

The aims of the evaluation were to obtain an independent assessment of the outcomes of each and to identify options for future delivery.
